This weekend I've started doing some Catch-22 skins. So far I only got 2 (I've been very busy): 6B "Passionate Paullete" and 6C. 2 down, 14 or 15 (I am not doing the camera ships, but am doing XB-HEY) to go!

I'm a little late answering but... the short answer is "no", it's unavoidable although you can possibly compensate by applying a little sharpening.

What's sharpening, exactly?

It's kind of hard to explain, but in this case I'd explain 'sharpening' as an effect used in programmes such as Photoshop to increase the crispness between different coloured pixels, for example the difference between the white and the blue on the port side nose art of 6C.

I'm a Photoshop user but I assume you're using Gimp? I've never used Gimp but I hear it's similar to PS... so in PS one selects the nose art layer then goes to the 'Filter' menu, scroll down to the 'Sharpen' menu then select one of the options there-in. I'd recommend applying only a little bit of sharpening and experimenting with it as it can have cons as well as pros.

I'm using Photoshop too. Thanks for the tip. Also, can you do the noseart for 6D "Free, Fast and Ready"? I have a lot of reference.

Sorry for such a late reply, how are you going with this? I see at SAS that mexchiwa will do some of that nose art for you which is good.

The pack is taking a long time due to lack of reference for the camouflage planes. However, I'm doing Yossarian's plane today (6V "Dumbo"). I'm still not sure if 6P ("aBOMBinable snowman", later "Laden Maiden") was OD or desert tan.

I suppose I should probably update this thread, to catch up to the SAS one As of today, we have:

Nothing is final yet, specially the camouflage planes, as their paintschemes are almost entirely fictional so far. Still not sure if 6P is OD or Desert Tan also.
