AdminToday 1CGS has announced their future plans for the series:
http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/25072-announcing-battle-kuban-and-development-plan/
I think Kuban is a good choice, it was one of my favorite scenarios in the old Il-2. I am not so excited about the move to the Pacific. I would have preferred another Eastern Front title, maybe Barbarossa or Kursk, to complete the 1941-1943 plane set, before moving to another theater. -
Main AdminExcellent news, thanks for posting.
-
AdminGreat! I'm looking forward to the Kuban and the P-39/Vb/A-20, all three being aircraft I like. Granted, Midway and Okinawa wouldn't have been my first choice for the PTO but as they're not confirmed who knows what we'll see in the future.
-
AdminI am especially delighted to read this:
- New Career for Kuban, Moscow, Stalingrad (ROF-like)
- Scripted Campaign game mode with first Campaign of 15 missions. Community can add their own scripted Campaigns later.
Good to see that the developers will finally tackle the lack of single player content. -
Level 6Glad to hear there'll be an A-20, and even happier to hear about their planned shift towards the Pacific, as the guy usually flying the PTO B-25 and B-24 missions.

AdminYesterday there was an interesting Teamspeak Q&A with Jason:
-
AdminThanks for posting, I found his comments on marketing and the behaviour of some of the flight sim crowd (from the point of view of a developer) quite interesting.
-
AdminYes, that part was interesting. I remember when the first Il-2 was released, it good quite a lot of coverage in the mainstream gaming magazines here in Germany. It was even shown on a popular gaming TV show. Today all this would be impossible for a flightsim. Therefore it's not surprising that the genre has problems to attract new players.
-
AdminFor all those who like to support their next project the pre-order for Kuban is already available at a reduced price:

AdminI splashed out today at pre-ordered BoK (premium edition) and while I was about it I also purchased premium BoM as well. A fair bit of money to pay out in one hit but the BoK and PTO announcements have got me more interested in the series.
