BTW it seems upgrading IL2's graphics is not going to happen ....as I am mainly interested in WW2 and not the early jet planes.
I have DCS and that's full of that kind of stuff already. I also would be willing to pay for an upgraded graphics engine for IL2

Let's wait and see what we will get. I am not really a Korea fan, but the first announcements got me interested.

The only real problem I see are the rather modest improvements to the map technology. The devs have fallen behind in this regard, when compared to DCS or other sims.

Agree, some of the map makes did a great job. Alas a lot WW2 stuff seems to be missing still.but at least Hawkeye60 made some great addons sofar ......
