  • De Havilland Mosquito FB.6 Y.A.F.
Seventy-seven ex-RAF Mosquito FB.6 obtained from the UK in late 1951-late 1952. Some examples converted to the T.III variant. Used for the fighter-bomber role. In 1953 they were used to patrol the Hungarian border. In October 1953 Mosquitoes were used to secure the border with Italy during a dispute over the ownership of Trieste. In 1954 at least four FB.6s with the 97th Aviation Regt were converted to carry TR-45/A torpedoes, and one was fitted with a minelaying system. In 1957 trials with the Yugoslav-built Letor-2 torpedo were carried out. Most Mosquitoes were retired in 1960, but nine FB.6s and two T.IIIs continued to operate until 1963 with a sea-reconnaissance squadron, primarily as target tugs.
This particular aircraft was delivered on the 22nd of July 1952.
